About Me
Myself, My Cat, & The Turtle Stack
Myself: Hello, and Welcome. I am Joanne and I am guessing you are here because you enjoy my show and want to know a bit more about me. Well, I was born in '86. I grew up in Wisconsin with my wonderful parents and two older siblings. I like to create things. I have dabbled with pottery, painting, drawing, resin casting, knitting, sewing, and now the audio world of podcasting! I do table top roll playing (like D&D) and I also really like to play board games and video games with friends when I have the time. I try to be open to new experiences when they are presented, but admittedly some of my favorite time is spent just quietly chilling at home with my cat, Willow.
My Cat: This is my cat Willow. You may hear her occasionally on the show, although a lot of her lines are cut during editing. I adopted her in December of 2019. She likes treats, head scratches, and laying on the floor next to the pet-beds I buy her... but, mostly treats. She sometimes snores, but that is okay because she is perfect.
& The Turtle Stack: So, why name it "The Turtle Stack"? Well, It was kind of a happy accident. I had thought about doing this podcast for a long time but could never think of a name when I was thinking of more literal and descriptive options. I was walking with a friend one day, describing the concept, and explaining that the show didn't need to feature big topics, just simple little things that make people happy, like turtle stacks. If you have never seen turtles stack, it is very cute. It makes me smile, and that is exactly what I wanted to accomplish with the podcast, make people smile and give people a chance to talk about the things that make them smile. So ... "The Turtle Stack" became my show! After deciding to name my podcast, I decided to learn a bit more about WHY turtles stack. It seems we aren't 100% sure but the best theories are that they stack with each other to stay warm and get as much sunlight as possible, which again happens to be the goal of my show! So I guess I am basically gathering turtles to build each other up and help share more warmth and light than we can get on our own.
